- Yes, despite what many people think, Falcon is a good computer - even
- with its numerous design flaws... Once designed correctly, this REAL
- Falcon could show some very serious performance. Upgradability is the
- main problem, I think, since the original Falcon concept didn't give
- us much chances to improve the machine.
-
- PCI-bus might be the way to go, since this would allow Falcon to use
- the fastest graphics cards available. I only hope this won't result
- in huge compatibility problems, as on PC-side =( ...
-
- 32- or even 64-bit bus (Medusa & Hades Atari-clones use 64-bit RAM)
- helps a lot everything. The sound system is basically good as it it,
- but we definitely need a properly done analogic input/output stage
- with little noise and distortion, and linear frequency response.
-
- DSP could be the same 56001, clocked with 50 MHz. Perhaps, if compatible,
- the newer 5600X -DSPs could do, too. This 56001, however, is fast enough
- for most applications, and it's cheap.
-
- SCSI-bus should be a _lot_ faster than it is now! It's possible we will
- lose the rest of ST-compatibility with the re-designed Falcon, but maybe
- it's worth it, after all. ST is yesterday, as are 286s and 680XX Macs..

- It's not that spectacular (seen it, been there ;-) !

- I like personally Sierra Nevada, the Rockies, and Grand Canyon a lot
- more - so: Colorado, here we come =) !
